Anthony Lopez is a seasoned construction executive with 30 years in the engineering and construction industry. Anthony has expertise in all aspects of construction. He has managed the development, design and construction for major development projects. At Haugland Energy he served as the project executive for the Sunrise Wind HVDV OnShore Converter Station which achieved substantial completion in 2025 and is ready to deliver wind power to Long Island customers.
Prior to joining Haugland, Mr. Lopez was part of the Belmont Park Development Project team. His primary responsibility was the oversight of design and construction, with a focus on Infrastructure, Utilities and MEP/FP. The project consisted of the new 700,000 gsf Arena for the NHL NY Islanders Ice Hockey Team, a new 1,500 space multi-level Parking Garage, 250-key hotel, a 350,000 gsf Retail Village, as well as various other site improvements.
On UBS Arena, Anthony served as owner’s representative managing client expectations from the ground breaking to the ribbon cutting ceremony, from community relations to schedule and change management. He also managed the permit process for the construction, environmental and operating permits from all municipal agencies involved with the project.
Anthony served as Vice President/Managing Director of MEP Construction for an owner’s representative firm specializing in Healthcare, Commercial Buildings and Transportation Projects. He also served as Director of Operations and the Account Manager for the New York-Presbyterian Hospital for a project management firm, leading a staff of over 12 project managers, architects and engineers, overseeing >$200M in capital infrastructure and renovation projects. Mr. Lopez was also the Head of Infrastructure Projects and a Senior Project Manager at AKF Engineers, a leading MEP Consulting Firm headquartered in NYC.
Mr. Lopez provides essential leadership to aspiring engineers and project managers by applying his industry expertise, creative approach to systems analysis, forward-thinking, design and business development skills. Anthony’s renowned expertise in design, construction, and management has enabled Haugland Group to expand the range of services they provide to their esteemed clients.
Mr. Lopez obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at New York Institute of Technology and a Masters in Business Administration from Dowling College.
